For the last thirty years, winemakers in this picturesque region have committed themselves to a massive undertaking: to reinvent their country’s wine industry.

Rosé is pure magic. Saturday’s rainy weather inspired me to pop open two bottles of delicious, dry Moravian rosé. And just like that, this morning, the sun came back out. Like I said...magic.
During summer, there is a special kind of magic in the vineyards of South Moravia. As the vines begin their journey to harvest, growing shoots and tendrils that cling to their supportive trellises, the land transforms into varied shades of green, beckoning us city folk to stop, pause, and reflect.
Finally, it is summer here in South Moravia. And what better way to ring in the long, sunny days and warmer temperatures than with Sauvignon Blanc!

Spring is here, and that means that it is white wine season. And although I had my initial trepidations about Sauvignon Blanc from South Moravia, I was pleasantly surprised by these two outstanding examples from Vinařství Václav in Hustopeče and Vinařství Sonberk in Popice.
